With so many mouthwash options available, it's hard to know what to use. Contrary to popular belief, my favorite mouthwash is regular, good old fashioned hydrogen peroxide. Yes, the stuff in the brown bottle that you can put on a scrape or a cut to help disinfect and heal faster. I love it for 3 reasons:
-it's cheap!
-it's antibacterial!
-it'll whiten your teeth!
The best way to use it is as follows. At night, rinse for about 10 seconds with a capful of 3% hydrogen peroxided, then rinse. Leave the foam coating on your teeth (the foaming action means it's disinfecting the harmful bacteria that can contribute to tooth and gum disease), then floss so it whitens and disinfects between the teeth, then brush your teeth with your favorite toothpaste, and finally rinse once with water. In several months I can guarantee that your teeth will be whiter and your breath will be fresher!
